Mr. Griffin serves as Senior Counsel at Emerzian Law Group, serving the firm’s public agency, education, non-profit, and business clients. In this role, Mr. Griffin is dedicated to helping California employers navigate their responsibilities and reduce everyday business risks, focusing on providing strategic guidance to address the unique challenges that emerge in their workplaces.  Mr. Griffin also regularly advises on state and federal employment law, high risk termination, and workplace policies. He also supports clients through workplace investigations involving misconduct, sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and has completed the National Association of College & University Attorney’s Title IX training as well as training for trauma informed interview techniques.  

Mr. Griffin works diligently to help California employers stay compliant, protecting employers from costly lawsuits by offering solutions and resolving issues before litigation begins. In this capacity, Mr. Griffin advises on workplace policy development and employee handbooks, compliance strategy, liability prevention, discipline procedures, wrongful termination prevention, discharge compliance, and best practices for severance and termination documentation. Mr. Griffin has provided solutions to employers facing challenges with Labor Code compliance, FEHA and CRD matters, wage and hour compliance, meal and rest break compliance, overtime audits, PAGA compliance, independent contractor classification compliance, AB5 compliance, and California workplace regulations.  

Mr. Griffin also serves as an attorney for the City of Fresno’s Eviction Protection Program, providing direct legal representation to tenants being unlawfully evicted within the City of Fresno. Mr. Griffin brings both strategic and empathetic insight when providing legal guidance for the legal challenges his clients encounter, offering the City of Fresno’s tenants support when it is most critical.  

Prior to joining Emerzian Law Group, Mr. Griffin worked in both plaintiff and defense litigation related to employment and personal injury law, public-agency defense, as well as municipal finance. Mr. Griffin’s experience across a wide range of roles enables him to skillfully handle diverse matters and support clients with whatever challenges arise. Employers consistently return to him as a trusted advisor when new issues arise. 

Mr. Griffin enjoys being outdoors, hiking in the mountains and surfing on the coast, dinner parties, and spending time with his wife and children.
